We are called to CREATE!

Jesus created.

3 Steps to CREATE in our world.

These are similar steps we can take to create in our world (home, job, marriage, family, ministry, etc). Jesus wants us to create, but sometimes we are too busy to see the opportunity, remember our calling or simply care. Taking these steps will help us conquer these thoughts and feelings.

1. Be Intentional.

In verses 1-2, we see that Jesus was intentional. He showed up.

He had spent the night in the Mount of Olives, but traveled back to the temple that day.

Where the line between His divinity and humanity was, I don’t know. Did he know He would meet that woman? Did He know He would face down an angry mob? I guess not, but either way, Jesus showed up.

2. Be prepared.

Verse 2 goes on to tell us Jesus taught when he arrived at the temple. Jesus didn’t just show up…He was ready.

Sometimes, due to the hectic nature of our lives, it’s all we can do just to show up. However, we get there and realize we aren’t really ready. We’re missing this, or we’ve forgotten that.

Jesus was able to create because He was ready.

3. Embrace fear.

Verses 3-8 is the crisis moment. The mob arrives and demand a verdict. Jesus could have done any number of things, but He chose the one thing that took the most guts. Jesus spoke up.

It wasn’t enough for Jesus to show up and be ready. He needed to face whatever fear He felt in facing the crowd and speak.

We all encounter these situations probably every single week. We have the opportunity to speak or do something forcing us out of our comfort zone.

Do you embrace your fear?

I know I’ve wimped out too many times. I’ve had the opportunity to create, but let it pass by. I stayed silent.However, when I do speak up. When I do embrace my own fears, it’s when God shows up. It’s when I see creation take place.I want to encourage you today to not just show up ready, but to embrace your own fears when the perfect moment to create arrives. It’s coming. Get ready.
