Judah: A 180 degree change

the narrative shows Joseph and Judah’s lives paralleled. Just as Joseph was physically enslaved and imprisoned, Judah was emotionally and spiritually enslaved and imprisoned. As Joseph is finding freedom physically, so is Judah spiritually. As Joseph is working to save his family, so is Judah. As Joseph is finding redemption, so is Judah.

God creates something from nothing

From Nothing to Something

Close your eyes… No seriously, participate in this little action with me. You can’t close your eyes (and still read this) but imagine nothing. Okay, I know that’s hard, but as best you can imagine empty space, no creation, vast blankness. Now to this empty space, add a light (someplace, somewhere, somehow). Now add a […]

2016 Word of the Year | BOLD

The ‘C’ word Can you imagine one word changing the entire trajectory of your life? As hard as it may seem to believe, it’s possible. One word can radically change your story. I know this because one word, five years ago, began a snowball of change and growth in my life. Which brings me to the […]

Egypt: Have fun stormin’ the castle!

It kinda feels good… Why does someone stay in an unhealthy relationship? Not just relationships with people but drugs, porn, gambling, eating, sex, shoes – you name it. Why do we stay there? I’m no psychologist (I have a hard time spelling it), but I think it’s about believing life on the “other side” is actually better. […]
