Zealous isn’t a word I use very often in my everyday life. Zealous means to be full of zeal.

A long weekend/short week.
This past Labor Day weekend, Kia and I and the kids took off for Colorado. We stayed in my uncle’s unbelievable home in Silverthorne.
On Friday, we visited the Dillon Farmer’s Market. This farmer’s market was less about vegetables and more about arts, crafts and great food.
Our kids spent 30-45 minutes at a booth with free crafts for kids. I ate a spicy brat and homemade sawerkraut from a German lady who got mad at me when I didn’t hear her (hint: don’t make the German lady making your food mad at you). Kia bought some great elk jerky.
We also met a young man, Luke Drake (see his image above), starting an apparel line. He is catering toward the skate/snowboard culture in Colorado, and had a great line of clothing. He has named the company Zealous Apparel.
I stopped and looked, then a little later brought Kia back. We chose a few items, he gave us a few more. Then he shared a sort of tagline that struck me cold –
Zealous. Because everyone needs to be zealous about something in life.
What are you zealous about?
If you want a great business or life or photography you need to be zealous about one of the three (if not 2 or 3).
Zeal for life will cause you to create a great business or photography. Zeal for photography will cause you to have a great life (and the potential for a great business). Zeal for business will force you to have good & improving photography, and will give you the opportunity for a good life.
The key? Have fervor, passion, ardor, zeal for something in life.
If not, you’re just another business; another photographer; another person.
