Time for a road trip.
Last weekend, Kia and I returned from a 13 day road trip with our 4 kids. We logged over 3000 miles and 9 states of driving.
Our goal was my dad and step-mom in West Palm Beach, Florida, but along the way we stopped to visit family and friends. Some stops were planned a few were spontaneous.
As I sat back and thought back through all the places we saw, and people we visited one word continued to roll through my head…
Change.
Everyone we talked with was going through some type of transition. For some this meant a relatively small shift, yet others were in the midst of complete life-changing moves.
Change is inevitable. It comes whether we want it to or not. Change is always easiest to deal with when we initiate it, but that can’t always be the case.
You’ll survive…
Despite the struggles and frustrations everyone is walking through, they are surviving. In fact, most are thriving.
You’re not alone, and you will be okay.
…and can thrive.
Our last stop of the trip was a highlight for Kia. We visited The Dave Ramsey show, and got to have our picture taken with Dave.
Ramsey’s story is simple. In his 20’s, he got into over a million dollars of debt and lost it all in a bankruptcy. He struggled back and now 30 years later has a business with over 300 employees and an office building (completely paid for) in one of the nicest areas in Nashville.
Success like this is not guaranteed, but it’s possible.
The change you are walking through is temporary. You will find a better place.
More thoughts to come…
Are you in the midst of change? How are your coping?

Change is definitely happening. I tell people we are “shifting”.

The old “shift happens” line. It’s more applicable now than ever…
