One of those days.
Yesterday was one of those days.
Normally, I like to be up by 6:30 on days I work (being a pastor, I work on Sundays). I read my bible, read the news, and slowly make my way out of bed. To make sure I’m up, I set my alarm the night before, so really this story starts Saturday night.
Saturday night, I laid down pretty tired. As I laid down, I realized I had forgotten to set my alarm. So I made one of those bad decisions which make sense at the time. I told myself, I will get up on my own.
You may see where this is going, but maybe not…
See, I was right. I did get up on my own. No alarm needed if my goal was 7:20. Ugh.
It was one of those days.
All day I felt behind. I couldn’t catch up. Things didn’t go to plan.
It was one of those days.
Then grace.
Luckily, I don’t have to be perfect. Grace intervenes.
And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say,
“God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.” -James 4:6
God is a God of grace. I need it.
Some days I feel it more than others. Yesterday, I felt it more. I needed grace, so I humbled myself and asked. In His grace, God showed up.
If it’s one of those days (or weeks or months or years), don’t worry. There’s grace.
