The Heist
Did you catch this story in the news? 8 were arrested in a daring Atlantic City casino heist.
The capture of the thieves involved a 3-state manhunt, a shot police officer and the recovery of $150,000 in cash, drugs and merchandise (over $50,000 in drugs and clothes alone). The robbery was initially successful because a recently fired security guard lead this team of robbers directly to to an infrequently used door where money is transferred.
It’s the kind of stuff they make movies about…except it isn’t.
Real life isn’t Hollywood
In the movie version the guard would be justified. He wouldn’t be caught because he’s much to clever. He would escape to an exotic, foreign beach. Life would be good.
Real life isn’t that clean. We’re not that clever. Our plans fall apart.
This is when character is built. This is when we get to see what people are really made of.
8 guys are going to spend a lot of time in prison. How will they respond to that setback? Will they become more angry and bitter at life?
What about you?
Has life not turned out quite how you thought it would? The Hollywood ending you dreamed of seems to be world away?
This is life. Now you get to see what you’re made of.
This is where greatness is developed. You can do it.
