Word of the Year 2015
Earlier, I shared my 2015 Word of the Year – ATTACK. 2013 and 2014 were more theory than practical – TRANSFORM & VISION. I’m excited about ATTACK because it’s practical.
Here is a list of things I will practically attack in 2015:
- Writing. I’ve committed to write here 3 days a week. I also write 2-3 times/week for my job at the church. I am seriously thinking about writing a book and what that means.
- Design. Last Christmas I was given a screen print machine. Due to a move, it sat in the basement unused for months. It’s set up and ready for serious use. I want to design and print 5-10 shirts this year.
- House. Like most people, our house isn’t “done.” We have several projects we need thought through and completed. I want to tackle them this year.
- Family. I want to be an active, involved father. I don’t have specifics, but I want to attack and not sit back.
- Spiritual. Writing is an important spiritual outlet and process for me. Writing keeps me focused on what is God speaking to me today.
- Career. I’ve set a goal to grow our kids ministry by 1o0 kids this year (double current attendance). I’m real, this is a God thing more than me, but I do believe I am responsible to set infrastructure to prepare for growth.
- Finances. Outside of our home, we are completely debt free! Now we want to attack our retirement and kids’ college funds. We also want to save for a few major purchases we have our eye on in the next year or two.
The Long Road.
I’ll be honest, looking at that list, I’m overwhelmed.
But my first lesson this year is a reminder of the whole point. It’s a year project. It’s my Word of the YEAR. I’m going to learn to ATTACK better and smarter. This isn’t a one month project. It’s a one year project.
My lesson on how to ATTACK is the same lesson you can learn about your word. You have all year to figure it out.
It’s a long road of learning, and I’m excited about the journey. It’s how I’m going to ATTACK this year.
