Spoons, Lying and Relaxing
This weekend, I celebrated Independence Day like most people. I hung out with my family. I read, I slept, I grocery shopped and I played games with my kids.
My oldest daughter just got home from camp with a couple of games to teach the family. I knew both of them, but they were new to the other kids. She taught us Spoons and Liar (or as I learned it as kid, Bologna Strips). We also played Skip Bo and Settlers of Catan.
It was so fun, sitting around, joking, laughing and hanging out with each other.
July 5th I didn’t want to go to work.
Hi ho…Hi ho…
Off to work I did go, but I had a revelation. I can still rest this summer.
So I am. Writing is a call, but I’m not a slave to it. God gave it to me as a gift not a burden. This will be my last post until my kids are back in school – mid-August.
Let this be a reminder to you as well. What are you called to? Don’t let it be a burden.
May your call be a joy and source of life. If it's not, relax. Share on XMay your call be a joy and source of life. If it’s not, relax. Take a break until it is again.
