Life is uncertain, which means your faith can also be uncertain. It’s why they call if faith. Without doubt you can’t have faith. So let me give you two things you can be certain of today, tomorrow and for your life.
Here are two things you can take to the bank about God.
1. God is faithful.
“God will do this, for he is faithful to do what he says, and he has invited you into partnership with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” -1 Corinthians 1:9 NLT
What is it God will do? Paul tells us God will keep us strong until His return. This means he will give to us what we need to endure today, tomorrow and into the future. God will give you what you need emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually. Which means there is actually a third thing to take to the bank – God is generous.
I can point back to times as a child, a teen, a young adult, a young parent, and now into my middle age years where God has been faithful. I admit, in the raging winds of a storm, I didn’t always see it. But looking back now, it was true. God has always been faithful to me.
Because God is faithful, I am also confident about this…
2. God is for me.
“You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.” -Psalms 139:5 NLT
I’ve spent too much time in my life worried if God is against me. I am God’s child, so I know David’s proclamation in Psalms is true for me too. God’s hand is on me.
I know God is for me because he designed his blessings to flow on from one person to the next. When God blesses me, it is to be passed onto those around me.
Receive it
Here is my challenge for you: receive it.
Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Speak these two things aloud,
“God is faithful.”
“God is for me.”
Now, do it again. Finally, open your eyes and live like it’s true.
Because it is. God is faithful. God is for you.
