In June, Kia and I visited Portland as both a vacation and the opportunity to attend the Storyline Conference. I’ve posted a lot about my thoughts on both the trip and the conference. Here are some of my favorites:
- The Power of Story
- What do you want?
- 4 Obstacles to living your story.
- Living intentionally
- Where you do, what you do matters.
Don Miller hosted Storyline (his most recent book is A Million Miles in a Thousand Years). Don posted this video from pastor, author and speaker Chris Seay (his most recent book is The Gospel According to Jesus). The video is a presentation that Seay made at TEDx in Houston. It follows the theme that Miller shared in Portland – you have a story; what is it and how does that affect your life and business?
Here is my biggest take-away:
The work that you’re doing, it’s not really you. You’re imitating someone, I don’t know who it is, but you’re imitating someone.
Key Line:
I wonder who you really are?
Do you really know who you are as a person and artist?
I encourage you to take a few minutes and watch it.
